Update
I’d like to express my thanks to Tom Dougherty and his family for the fantastic back country tour to Diamond Valley lake and wine tour yesterday. An event like this is analogous to herding cats and despite a couple of glitches we all found our way to the overlook at the lake, the winery, and ultimately to Sweet Lumpy’s in Temecula. Job well done Tom! We had representatives and cars from Arizona, SoCal VSA , SCVCOA, and SDVSA.
Photos and story to follow.

Hello Volvo Enthusiasts
The Annual 2012 Temecula Valley Wine Tour is around the corner and is still set for Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 meeting at 10:00 AM and leaving promptly at 10:30 AM. With travel considerations in mind where some attendees maybe behind schedule, I created a map and directions at:
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?vps=2&hl=en&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&msa=0&msid=203378229114677901584.0004b6d7a4c2dd6f5de94
Kindly review and prepare yourselves for another great tour with a new starting point and an enjoyable day through the country side.
Some helpful times and routes to consider from:
[1] Old town Temecula to Scott Rd is 20 minutes. Travel I-15 North to I-125 North to Scott Rd.
[2] San Diego to Scott Rd is approx. 1 Hour 20 minutes and same as above
[3] Northridge to Scott Rd. is approx. 2 hours via 405S to 60W to 215S
[4] Orange County to Scott Rd. is approx. 1 hour 20 minutes via 405 S to 55N to 91E to 215S
Kindly adjust your driving times considering the weather and traffic conditions. We expect to finish the tour at Sweet Lumpys BBQ around 2:30 PM. Some people have asked us to suggest some additional touring to take place after lunch. There’s the opportunity to go east to the Pacific Coastal areas via Hwy 74 aka the Ortega Highway. Dana Point is approx. 1 hour 30 minutes and is close to I-5 allowing for direct access to San Diego to the south and Los Angeles to the north. There maybe a number of folks who’ll caravan over the mountains and it maybe an ad hoc arrangement.
Many thanks for your participation and feel free to share this fun event with other Volvophiles and fellow motorists who may be interested in joining us.
